Veris team wins three national awards
The Veris team has won three awards at the prestigious national Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA).
In the individual awards category, Michael Topp, won Young Professional of the Year and Alistair Byrom won Professional of the Year.
Both Alistair and Michael are part of the Veris surveying team in Queensland.
Veris also won the National Award for Innovation and Commercialisation for the Rail Runner system – an innovative rolling trolley system that enables the surveying of suspended, over-head, or hard-to-access rails without the need for direct access by the surveyor.
The innovation was led by Brenton Tidow from the Veris team in Western Australia, and was conceptualised, designed and built to address regular problems confronted by surveyors working on mining assets.
The Mt Crosby Pumping Station and the Melbourne Underground Rail Loop, which are both Veris projects, were also finalists in the Technical Excellence category of the national awards after winning at the regional level.
Michael Shirley, Chief Executive Officer, Veris Australia, shared, “It’s extremely rewarding to see the industry recognising the contribution of our people to the profession, as well as our technical excellence and innovation on projects.”
