Meet Anna, Project Manager – Consulting & Advisory

Tell us a bit about your career journey.

I have always been interested in science and engineering, but when I was younger, I hesitated to fully pursue these options as a career path. However, as I grew older and started a family, I reached a turning point in my life. I realised I didn’t want fear to hold me back from pursuing what I truly wanted. I began my career at Veris as an Admin Coordinator, then transitioned to Project Coordinator, and later became an Assistant Project Manager. I worked my way up to my current position as Project Manager. Veris recognised my ambition and desire for career growth and supported me by providing opportunities to develop my skills and become a better Project Manager.

What motivates you to progress in your career?

I am passionate about contributing to positive change for future generations. As a visible advocate for diversity and inclusion, I have received messages from individuals who have shared how my advocacy has impacted their lives. Knowing that my work makes a difference motivates me to keep doing what I’m doing.

How do you advocate for diversity and inclusion within the surveying and construction industry?

Currently, I serve as the Sydney Co-Chair for BuildingPride. Some of my advocacy work includes participation in industry panels, attending industry events, advising companies on diversity and inclusion policies, and connecting them with the right resources.

What is your biggest career achievement so far?

Being a finalist for the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Future Leader category – highlighting the work I was doing in the diversity and inclusion space. Another career highlight was building the Sydney Mardi Gras Float for BuildingPride. It’s inspiring to be part of a community that is having a real impact in the construction and property space.

What advice would you give to young people wanting to start their career in this industry?

If you are interested in getting into the industry, I would say to just go for it! The industry is rapidly changing, offering numerous pathways and ample support initiatives that can help women advance their careers.

Anna’s career journey is a powerful example of what’s possible when ambition meets opportunity. Her transition from Admin Coordinator to Project Manager reflects not only her personal drive but also Veris’ commitment to recognising talent, fostering growth, and supporting diverse career pathways. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, Anna is not only paving the way for others but actively shaping a more equitable and representative industry. At Veris, we’re proud to support professionals like Anna who are driving meaningful change - both within our teams and across the wider industry.
